Vicki Matt, 55, Red Owl, SD, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, as the result of an automobile accident.

Visitation will be from noon until 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Visitation resumes Monday one hour prior to services at the community center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2006, at the Central Meade County Community Center in Union Center with Pastor Wes Labrier and Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial will follow at the Red Owl Cemetery.

Vicki was born January 28, 1950, at Casper, WY, to George and Mildred (Skjonhaug) Rogers. She grew up in Casper and graduated from high school. She attended one year of college at Casper Junior College where she was a member of the Casper Junior College Rodeo Team before marrying Clifford Matt on September 27, 1969.

They lived in Casper until 1970 when they moved to Red Owl, SD. Vicki worked as a secretary for Central Feeds in Union Center. She also worked with her husband, Cliff, at Matt Ditching and the Matt Ranch.

Vicki was the secretary for the Enning Roping Club and the Red Owl Hall. She was a board member for the Rural Meade County Ambulance and former advisor of the Faith High School Rodeo Club.

Vicki enjoyed her horses and training working dogs. She scrapbooked and played volleyball, softball, and roped. She enjoyed her computer and emailing all her online friends. Vicki loved a game of cards or a good board game. She hauled kids to many rodeos over the years when she wasn't Tole painting or crafting.

Survivors include her husband, Clifford Matt, Red Owl; two daughters, Dana Keffeler and her husband, Jay De, Red Owl, and Rhonda Matt, Rapid City; three grandchildren, Jade, Jocelynn, and Justine. She will be missed by Zip the wonder dog.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials have been established to the Red Owl Cemetery and the Rural Meade County Ambulance Service.
