IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Victoria Ellen
Bergeron
January 12, 1960 – April 4, 2017
Vickie was born January 12, 1960, in Rapid City to Bernard and Loretta Wiehl. She was raised on the Wiehl Ranch with her brothers, Paul and Chris. Vickie loved the Wiehl Ranch and she very much enjoyed life on the prairie. Vickie graduated from Sturgis High School in 1978 and started working at Howard Johnson's Hotel where she met her life-long friend and soon to be sister-in-law, Hollie.
Hollie introduced Vickie to her brother, David, and in August 1982 Vickie and David were married. Their honeymoon was a trip to Glacier National Park. The honeymoon "kick started" a hidden passion in Vickie to experience the vast outdoors, and she and David enjoyed many wonderful motorcycle adventures on their separate bikes meandering the back roads of the northwestern United States.
Vickie and David raised two daughters, Jessica and Kristina. Her family was her life -- she loved being a wife and mother. She gave very willingly of herself to make her family successful and happy.
Outside the home, Vickie held several jobs including being a receptionist at the Great Western Bank and working as a groundskeeper for Western Dakota Tech, but her last job was her favorite; working at the Salvation Army Thrift Store where she met and enjoyed the company of many interesting people.
Gardening, feeding the birds and surrounding herself with cats gave her much joy, personal satisfaction and pleasure. Although, shopping with her daughters, lunch dates and family time were her ultimate highs.
Vickie had an infectious sense of humor and was well known for her one-liners.
Victoria (Vickie) Ellen Bergeron (Wiehl) passed away peacefully April 4, 2017, at her home in Rapid City, surrounded by her beloved family. She put up an amazing battle fighting lymphoma for nearly 14 years. The strength and will she showed throughout the battle is an inspiration to us all.
Vickie is survived by her parents, Bernard and Loretta Wiehl; her husband, David; daughters, Jessica (Eric) and Kristina; brothers, Paul (Shirley) and Chris; mother-in-law, Phyllis; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and her very dear friend, Jeanette.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her father-in-law, John Bergeron.
A celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. April 7, 2017, at Fountain Springs Church, 2100 North Plaza Drive, Rapid City, SD 57702.
