Vincent Archie Hlousek, 88, Belle Fourche, died Wednesday January 16, 2013 at the Belle Fourche Healthcare Center.
Visitation will be noon until 7 p.m. on Sunday with the family present from 2 pm until 4 pm at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Black Hills Gospel Assembly with Pastor Ken Riley officiating. Burial follows at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
Vincent and his twin sister, Winifred, were born August 3, 1924 at Sturgis, SD, to Frank and Jenovieve (Bedner) Hlousek. He was raised on the family ranch at Hereford until he was 6 years old. The family moved to Spearfish where they raised vegetables. Vincent graduated from Spearfish High School in 1943. He was a natural born mechanic and could fix anything. Through the years built two gas powered scooters, an inboard fiberglass boat, and a pusher prop airplane. He also built the family home including the wiring and plumbing.
On September 1, 1964 he married Judy Offerdahl at Spearfish. They owned and operated the LaBelle Lodge and the Ceramic House in Belle Fourche. Vincent worked for H&B Tractor in Belle Fourche and Queen City Motors and Ribble Chevrolet.
His greatest joy was his personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He enjoyed reading and studying Scripture. He was the assistant pastor at Black Hills Gospel Assembly for forty years.
Survivors include his wife Judy, Belle Fourche; sisters, Winifred Richardson, Chico, CA, Laurine Lamb, North Highland, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Clarice, Ella, Erma and one brother Ray.
