In Loving Memory of Virginia Bee Hemenway

Virginia Bee Hemenway, age 89, passed away on February 4th, 2024, in West Valley City, Utah. Born on August 7th, 1934, in Sundance, Wyoming, to Ada and Paul Ferguson the second of six children and ended up being the main babysitter for the herd. She brought joy and warmth to all who knew her. Virginia married the love of her life, Richard H. Hemenway, on June 1st, 1953.

Virginia grew up on the ranch at Sundance WY and then South of Enning SD. She graduated High School in Wasta SD, attended college and then taught school at Benita Springs. She and her husband ran the Super G gas station in Sturgis for many years. After retirement they spent many summers at Hart Ranch and winters in Arizona, then settled in Salt Lake with family.

Virginia loved life, especially when she was dancing with Richard or at Hart Ranch Camping Resort. Her love for her family and friends was also unwavering, often expressed through the joy of playing card games and creating cherished memories together.

She is survived by her loving daughters: Georgia (Walter) Anderson, Dixie (Joseph) Snyder, and Phyllis (David) Woldt; sisters: Patsy Hurley, and Frankie Baker; and her brother, Monte (Rita) Ferguson. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her grandchildren: Heather (Robert) Stevens, Travis (Stacee) Bellantino, Chad Anderson, Melissa (Mike) Top, Belinda Neil-Samo, and Devon (Brian) Barr; her great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Kade, and Kennedy Stevens, Sierra, Dylan, and Tyson Bellantino, Chantz Niel, Reyna and Malcom Samo, and Isabella Barr, were the light of her life.

Virginia is now reunited with her beloved husband, Richard H. Hemenway, in eternal peace.

Her kindness, laughter, and love will forever be remembered by all whose lives she touched. May her spirit continue to dance among us, inspiring love and joy for generations to come.
