Obituary

Wanda Barden was born March 7, 1970, in Deadwood, SD, to David Nicholas and Ina Fay (Jurrens) Campbell.
Wanda worked many jobs throughout her life, but the most memorable would have been her time at Dakota Farms Cheese, where she worked in the packaging department. It was here that she met her husband of almost 24 years, Cody Barden. Wanda also worked for the Meade County School District as a food service worker, but she always preferred the title of "lunch lady."
She was a kind and gentle person who had the ability to make anyone laugh, especially when she started to snort. She enjoyed watching movies, but above all, what Wanda cherished the most was the time she spent with her friends and family, especially her two grandchildren.
Wanda Louise Barden, 50, Sturgis, died Saturday, July 18, 2020, in the Lippold Hospice Suite at Monument Health Sturgis Hospital.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Cody Barden of Sturgis; sons, Justin (Victoria) of Gillette, WY, and Charlie of Sturgis; daughter, Paige Barden of Centerville, VA; her father, David Campbell; her two beloved grandchildren, Ana and Michelle; her brother, Richard (Amy) Campbell: and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother, Ina Campbell.
Private family committal services will be held on Friday, July 24, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Sturgis Christian Church with Pastor John Tesnow officiating.
