Wanda L. Smith, 74, Alliance, NE, died at Broken Bow, Nebraska on Friday, Dec 11, 2009.
Wanda was born October 7, 1935, to William Henry and Ival A. (Lenker) Mason in Hamill, SD. She grew up around Winner, South Dakota.
She was married to Drexel Smith on August 15, 1956. To this union six children were born. The family lived in Hay Springs, Gordon and Alliance, NE. She worked many years at the truck stop in Gordon and Woolrich in Alliance.
Survivors include a daughter in law, Ann Smith, daughter Roxane Forster (Alan), daughter Ivy Smith, son Drexel D. "Skip" Smith (Susan), son Eugene "Spike" Smith (Shelli), daughter Penny Fey (Jerry). She is also survived by one sister Shirley Novak and two brothers Lyle Mason (Hazel) and Francis "Buzz" Mason and 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, William H. and Ival A. Mason and two brothers, Ted Mason and William Mason and one sister Clarice Dreyer and her husband, Drexel and one son, Randy Smith.
Funeral Services will be held at Kinkade Funeral Chapel on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev Denzel Nonhof officiating. Burial will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery.
