Wayne F Brink

Wayne F. Brink, 64, Sturgis died at his residence on Sunday, May 7, 2006.

Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, with Rev. Gordon Higgins officiating and burial at the Bear Butte Cemetery.

Wayne was born at Sturgis on Jan. 24, 1942 to Muriel and Doris (Dickson) Brink. He grew up on the family ranch at Union Center. He attended school to the eighth grade in Union Center and one year of High School in Sturgis. He than moved back to the ranch until he was 18 years old, at which time he moved back to Sturgis and lived with his father. He was married to Judith Otterberg at Sturgis, on May 10, 1980.

Wayne worked for Homestake for 30 years and retired for medical reasons in 1995.

He loved fishing, hunting and working with wood.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Judy of Sturgis, one son, Jeff and his wife Gwen Brink of Louisville, Ky., one daughter, Connie Weisz of Gillette, Wyo., and four step children, David Haugen of Dodge Center, Minn., Kristie Goff of Rapid City, Anita Wiesinger of Newell and Duane Haugen of Rapid City, one brother, Leland Brink of Hulett, Wyo., and eight grandchildren. Also one step sister, Gwen Muth survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Johnie.
