Wayne "Bud" Lawrence Ormesher was born September 5, 1934, in Crookston, NE, to Frank and Virgie (Templeton) Ormesher. Wayne married Dolores Gillaspie on December 12, 1953, in Winner, SD. Wayne served in the US Army from 1957 to 1959. After being discharged from the Army, he worked various ranches and construction work. He began working as a meat cutter in 1967 in Valentine NE. In 1969, Wayne and Dolores moved to Winner, SD, where he worked at the Crossroads Market as a Meat Manager. In 1987, Wayne and Dolores moved to Rapid City, SD, where he managed Dakota Drive Apartments.

Wayne loved fishing, hunting, whittling, and gardening; he was always busy. He had an amazing sense of humor, and his family could listen to his stories all day. He gave the best hugs that will be dearly missed. Before he passed, he loved to listen to music, particularly Rod Stewart "Forever Young". Wayne Lawrence Ormesher, 88, of Black Hawk, SD, died Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Department of Veterans Affairs Fort Meade VA hospital.

Wayne and Dolores had three children, son, Daris (Lynne) Ormesher; daughters, Julie (Trent) Sinclair, and Lisa (Frank) Ruleaux; six grandchildren, Dustin (Leonor) Beranek, Loni (Casey) Colson, Adam (Melanie) Ormesher, Nicole (William) Lukkes, Jody (Amber) Thompson, Casey (John) Colin; and eleven great-grandchildren; Dale Beranek, Luke Beranek, David Beranek, Olivia Colson, Emily Colson, Matthew Lukkes, Anabelle Lukkes, Ashley Thompson, Shane Thompson, Brynn Mitchell and Cooper Colin. In addition to Dolores, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Wayne is survived by one brother, Richard Ormesher.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Virgie Ormesher, and two sisters, Leta Leach, and Fern Fernau.

Memorial visitation will be 12-2 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with a burial to follow at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors.
