William Joseph Covell, Jr. was born on December 18, 1948 in Watertown, SD to William and Rosella (Marsh) Covell, Sr.

Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, and motorcycle riding. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He loved spending time with friends and family. He was a generous man who loved the Lord. He also belonged to the Christian Motorcycle Association.

William J. Covell, Jr. passed away February 20, 2021 at his residence in Sturgis, SD.

He leaves behind two sons, Shawn Covell and Travis (Cheri) Covell; one daughter, Julie Covell-Linneman (Nick); two granddaughters, Caitlin and Kylie Covell; three grandsons, Troy Covell, Kyle Covell, and Brett Peck; four brothers and three sisters, Harold Covell, Robert (Heidi) Covell, Richard (Jett) Covell, Scott (Pam) Covell, Gertrude (Kevan) Stafne, Gail (Ron) Havorka, and Kim (Al) Sjorval; brother-in-law, Bruce Tracy; and many nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Rosella Covell, Sr.; a brother, Lowell Covell; and two sisters, Marlene Walker and June Tracy.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Sturgis. Committal services with military honors will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
