William Alexander Gleason, 76, Lead, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center.
Visitation will be Monday at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 23, at 11:30 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery.
Military honors will be provided by the Sturgis Veteran's
Honor Guard.
Bill was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Appalachia, Va., to William and Goldie Pearl (Jenkins) Gleason. He grew up and graduated from high school in Virginia and attended the University of Cincinnati.
Bill married June Ake on Dec. 23, 1950, in Lawrenceburg, Ind.
He served his country in the US Army for 20 years. He was honorably discharged in 1971. Bill then worked as a SD National Guard Advisor.
Bill received his Bachelor of Arts Degree at SDSU. He then taught high school.
He is survived by his wife,two sons, three daughters,two brothers, two sisters, 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
