William "Koke" Cowan passed away peacefully March 11, 2017, with his wife of 32 years, Janet, by his side.

Koke retired from driving truck in 2010 and lived a quiet life in Newell, surrounded by friends and family. He will be remembered for his candid nature, quick wit and abundant story telling about his life and adventures.

He is survived in death by his sister, Janelle Wilks of Post Falls Idaho; two daughters; four stepchildren; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elsie Cowan; as well as his brothers, Robert and Pat Cowan.

No official services will be held as was his request. He did, however, ask to be laid to rest with his beloved mother, Elsie, at the Bison Cemetery which is tentatively scheduled for Labor Day weekend.
