William Roy Virtue, 64, died on Friday, July 26, 2013, at Department of Veterans Affairs Fort Meade.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors provided by Post 1273 Rapid City Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

William Roy Virtue "Roy" was born on September 4, 1948, to Roy and Rose Virtue. He graduated from Custer High School. He then joined the Navy in 1968 - 1972 and served on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. After his tour of duty in the Navy, Bill worked at the Rushmore Forest Products sawmill.

He is survived by his two sisters, Judy Welch of Osage, WY, and Rose Harrison of Hulett, WY; special friend, TJ Tiden of Custer, SD; and multiple nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Ed Virtue, John Red Bear, Mona Conger, and Irene Langley.

Bill was a very loving and generous son, brother, uncle and friend he will be dearly missed.

A memorial has been established.
