William "Bill"
Ward Fallon
January 29, 1930 – May 26, 2016
Bill was born January 29, 1930, to Fred and Roma Fallon in Ramona, SD. He was the fourth of six children. He attended Ramona High School before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1948.
Bill left for basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. He developed his lifelong carpentry skills at Ft. Warren, WY. He was then stationed at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, and from there he went to the Philippines and later to Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD. He spent three and one half years at Hickam Air Force Base, HI, and ended his military service at Offutt Air Force Base, NE. While stationed at Offutt, he completed a one year tour in Vietnam, thus retiring with twenty years of faithful service to his country.
While stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in 1954 he met the love of his life, Dolores E. Lee. They eloped in July of 1954 to Miles City, MT. To this union were born seven children, and were married for nearly 62 years. After retiring from the Air Force, he began a second career with the Meade County Rural School district giving nineteen and one half years of service. Bill served as a deacon and a charter member at Black Hills Baptist Church, where he also taught the adult Sunday School for many years. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, surfing in the tropical climate of Hawaii, and later in life, golf. Bill continued his carpentry skills building many projects with his children and grandchildren.
