Willis L. Arnold, Jr., was born and raised in Townville, Penn., where he was owner and operator of the Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home for 50 years. Willis was a veteran of WWII and recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Combat Medal for his actions in the Pacific in 1944.
Willis, of Spearfish, passed from this life into Heaven on Monday, July 9, 2018, at the age of 95.
He is survived by children, Polly Mitchell and husband, Bill Mitchell, of Charlotte, N.C., Kathy DiDomenico and husband, Rob DiDomenico, of Rapid City, Karla Scovell and husband, Scott Scovell, of Spearfish, and Stephen Arnold and wife, Maura Arnold, of Pittsburgh, Penn. Willis was blessed with 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Willis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years, Zola McCrillis Arnold; his son, Philip Brian Arnold; one brother; and three sisters.
Friends are invited to join his family at a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at High Plains Western Heritage Center.
His family requests that in lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in his memory to the Spearfish Veterans Monument.
