There will be a celebration of life barbecue with her favorite cheeseburgers and vanilla ice cream at a later date.

Yvonne came into this world by a midwife on November 16, 1935, in rural Summit, SD. She was the sixth child born to Frank Charles and Pearl Hazel (Latham) Hogan. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Osceola 3 Township. She was a true farm girl helping her dad in the Summit hills. She later worked in Milbank at the New Cafe that was owned by her future mother-in-law Otsie Hoeke.

Yvonne married Leslie G. Hoeke on August 21, 1954, in Milbank, SD.  They lived in Milbank, SD until 1967. They then moved to a farm outside Revillo, SD to fulfill Leslie's passion to farm. In 1972, they bought their own farm by Clear Lake, SD.  In 1985, they moved to Lancaster, CA to manage condominiums until Leslie's health conditions caused them to move to Sturgis, SD where together they enjoyed the beautiful Black Hills until his passing in 1991.

In 2002, Yvonne decided to move to Sierra Vista, AZ to be near her siblings and to enjoy warmer weather.  She enjoyed sitting on her porch swing and taking care of her plants and flowers especially Christmas cactus. She became a resident of Homestead Assisted Living in Lake Norden in 2022 to be closer to her family. She then entered hospice at Avantara in May of this year at Lake Norden, SD until her passing.

She enjoyed cooking and baking the best homemade goodies. She loved to dance and listen to Alan Jackson. She learned to tap dance and yodel when she was younger.  She crocheted many beautiful afghans in her lifetime.

Yvonne was a lifelong member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary of Milbank, SD.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Timothy (Louise) of Watertown, SD, Todd of Sammamish, WA, Denice (Bryon) Spartz of Olivia, MN, and Troy (Trish) of Rapid City, SD. Her siblings; Darwin of Lake Norden, SD, Shirley of Sturgis, SD, Michael (Lyle Stephens) of Sonoita, AZ, and Donald of Sierra Vista, AZ. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Leslie, two brothers; James and Frank Jr. (Sonny), five sisters; Betty, Kay, Barbara and two stillborn; a daughter-in-law, Dee (Dienna); grandson Shelby and great-grandchild Coy.

Special thank-yous go to her caregivers at Homestead Avantara and especially her Hospice Team. A very special thank you also to Lyle Hoeke.

So mother, until we meet again - "I Say It's Just Crazy, Isn't It Crazy!".
