James Burrer, 69, of Rapid City, SD, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Monument Health Hospital Rapid City, SD.

Jim was born on January 16, 1952, to Fredrick and Flavia (Akers) Burrer in Hettinger, ND. He attended Cash rural grade school and graduated from Bison High School. After graduation he attended Western Vo -Tech in Rapid City for mechanical work. He enjoyed working for his family and held many jobs. September 5, 1970, he was united in marriage to Adelle (Krause-Burrer) Heupel.

Grateful for having shared his life are his son, Cody Burrer, Rapid City, SD; and his daughter, Tiffany Burrer, Billings, MT; grandsons, Brandon Schuppan, Aiden Burrer; great-granddaughter, Aaliya; and all the special ones he considered as his grandchildren; two sisters, Ardath Burrer Lodgepole, SD, and Linda Burrer McLaughlin, SD, and her children, Erin (Jim) Warne, AZ, and Nathanial Burrer, McLaughlin, SD; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Flavia Virginia (Akers) Burrer; his paternal grandparents, John and Rosa (Hoff) Burrer; his maternal grandparents, John Frank, Sr. and Minnie Ellen (Smith) Akers; brother, Keith Edwin; grand-nieces, Abigal Rose, and Nora James Warne; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Besler's Cadillac Ranch, St Onge, SD.
