Kathryn "Kathy" Marie Hulbert (Conway) was born July 3, 1968, in Sturgis, SD, to Walter and Dorothy (Plaggemeyer) Conway. Kathy was exactly what you wanted in a friend, loyal till the very end. Growing up, her brothers and cousins could count on her for anything; a chameleon if you will. Kathy was a loving mother to her daughters; they were her whole world, and she showed the same love to her grandchildren. She was a hands-on grandma and never missed a thing, it was the proudest title she carried. You could always count on finishing at least 1 pot of coffee while visiting with Kathy, she welcomed everyone into her home with open arms. Music, cribbage, darts, she did it all…but nothing beat her love for her boys, the Dallas Cowboys. How lucky are we to have spent this life with her?
Kathy (Conway) Hulbert, 53, of Sturgis, SD, passed away at home on June 25, 2022. She was surrounded by nothing but love and ran pain free into the arms of her mom.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Casandra Conway, Philadelphia, PA; Jennifer Mertz, Sturgis, SD; Kiley (Brittin) VanSickle, Belle Fourche, SD, and Shauna Hulbert, Sturgis, SD; seven grandchildren: Kayleigh, Tavian, Amara, RayLee, Whyatt, Jeremiah and Zoey; brothers: Wally (Donna) Conway, Rapid City, SD, Ronnie Conway, Sturgis, SD, and Jaread (Amy) Miller, New Salem, ND; sisters: Joann Evans, ID, Julie Plaggemeyer, Sturgis, SD, and Carol Huckins, TN; uncles: Lloyd (Cindy) Plaggemeyer, and Larry (Connie) Plaggemeyer; numerous nieces and nephews; Larry VanSickle, dad to her girls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Dorothy (Plaggemeyer) Conway; grandma, Katheryn; one brother, Larry; one sister, Mary; and numerous uncles.
