Obituary

Seth Stehman, 44, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at his home in Rapid City, South Dakota, surrounded by his loving family, after a valiant 21-month battle with cancer. Visitation will be Friday, February 11, 2022, 10:30-11:30 a.m., Kinkade Funeral Chapel, Sturgis, SD. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD.

Seth was born April 24, 1977 to Brent and Debra Stehman in North Carolina. He graduated from Mechanicsburg High School, Mechanicsburg, PA in 1996. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving honorably for 21 years, retiring in 2018. He spent most of his military career stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD, and the last two years at Barksdale Air Force Base, LA. He was deployed overseas several times throughout his career. Seth was a patriot at heart and loved his country. Seth married Jessica Legner, the love of his life, on April 7, 2001. Their family was complete with the birth for their four children Zane, Devin, Chloe, and Sophia. Seth was an avid hunter and fisherman. He could talk to a total stranger and make them feel like a friend for life. There's nothing Seth liked more than a good joke. His smile and boisterous laughter were infectious and will be greatly missed by all those who know and love him.

Seth was predeceased by his paternal uncles Todd Rittle and Russell Stehman

Seth is survived by his loving wife, Jessica and children Zane (Janna Jagodzinski), Devin, Chloe, and Sophia, and his first grandchild, expected in September 2022. He is also survived by his mother, Debra (Tom) Pavlovicic; father, Brent (Vicki) Stehman; brothers, Zawn (Stacey) Stehman, Zech Stehman, Sheldon (Becky) Stehman, and Lance (Cheyenne) Whitmire; maternal grandmother, Joan (Bob) Emerich; maternal grandfather, Eugene George Rutter (Joanne); paternal grandparents Ron and Shirl Stehman; special uncle, Rick (Joy) Rutter, all of Pennsylvania; and mother-in-law, Jill Sowers-Legner, Rapid City, SD and father-in-law, Richard (Ruby) Legner, Littleton CO, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends who love and will miss him.
